Hill 25 – Museum & Remembrance
Where history, remembrance, and art come together

Step into Hill 25, where history, remembrance, and art come together. Located at Steenakkermolen, also known as the Dead Mill, you enter a place rebuilt on top of the war ruins immediately after the conflict.

In the historic miller’s house, you can feel the past, as if the stories of soldiers and locals still linger. Both Faces of War and A Message in a Poppy were created here. Visitors discover unique objects, personal artifacts, and documents from the First World War, and through short films, gain an exclusive look at how these projects were developed and traveled across Belgium and abroad.

The memorial meadow invites reflection and offers a unique experience where art and history meet. Hill 25 is a place of respect, passion, and remembrance, where visitors can experience the intensity of the front and feel the human stories behind the war.
